Soap & Glory Skincare Review

I have totally mental skin so I'm really fussy about what i use on it, have had a lot of hormonal breakouts lately so i have been trying to find products that clear up my skin without stripping it dry, I'm one of the unlucky people who has spots and is nearly 30. So i thought i'd try soap and Glory's skincare line while it was 3 for 2 in Boots. Soap & Glory are Made by Martha Kilgore the founder of Bliss spas, so you could say its a sort of Bliss spas diffusion line. Here's reviews of the products i got.

Firstly The Fab pore facial peel mask. Its not really a facial peel as such but a minty/menthol smelling white mask with wee green beads in it, it claims to shrink pores and smooth the skin using salicylic acid ( In the green beads) At first i didn't really think this was doing much but I've used it 4 times now and my skin isn't as much as a greaseball any more, and my skin feels so smooth after using it. Top marks and does the same job many more expensive masks does. I will buy again.

Next Clean Mary Cleanser. Now i wear a crapload of make up and normally use Elemis Rosepetal cleanser to get it all off but at £17 a bottle i was looking for a cheaper alternative. I expected this cleanser to strip my skin like mad but its soooo gentle and really deep cleansing my skin is much clearer since I've been using it . The formula is really creamy and the cleanser seems to last for ages. I think the key to clearing up spot prone skin is to be gentle with it and this cleanser is perfect. You can wash it off or use cotton wool.
Last but not least is the Glow job moisturiser , i liked the fact it had beads of fake tan in it as my face has a bit of an unhealthy pallor just now. Its a really great basic moisturiser but gives the skin a nice bit of colour without looking fake Tanny!!!! As with all the soap & glory products its really high quality and doesn't cause me to breakout.
Overall all these products are of really high quality and better than some high end skincare I've tried. They are really cheap especially if you buy them on 3 for 2 and i have been using these way more than my Elemis skincare.

Illamasqua Bronzer duo in Glint/Writhe

I just purchased this bronzer after hearing brilliant reviews on it. I was looking for something that would make me look healthy without the L'orangina look. I found exactly what i was looking for in this bronzer, its ideal for fair to medium skin tones and is excellent for contouring the face, i use the darker side under the cheekbone and the lighter shade on my cheekbone to try and sculpt my ball shaped face. Illamasquas powders are all really finely milled and have a mirror in the compact. Just enough browny tones to make it look like a hint of a tan but not so much it makes me look like I've been tangoed .Perfect bronzer i will definitely rebuy if i run out Lovely!! x

MAC style Black.

So MAC style black is finally here in the UK, and its cool, not very wearable but cool!!!
If black lipsticks are your thing then you'll love it but otherwise there is a few things for people that don't suit dark lipstick like myself. Although i did cave in and buy night violet lipstick a dark wine/purple colour (swatches to follow) I love it, but to be honest I'll probably ever wear it around my house.

The Greasepaint stick is fricking amazing, its great as a dark base for any eyeshadow and doesn't budge its like an updated version of sharkskin shadestick, yum!!!

I did fancy some of the eyeshadows such as Young Punk ( think i just love the name) but sadly they are all sold out online.

Anyway didn't buy too much from style black but saving my cash for the Christmas collections, which loo amazing by the way.

Illamasqua Rich foundation review.

Just a review of the Illamasqua rich foundation, I thought i would start with the most basic of their products and i believe this is a staple for anyone that wants to do more editorial or really made up looks.
On first glance its ridiculously thick and totally unworkable as its like the thickest foundation I've ever seen but with a bit of work it becomes flawless.
The first time i put it on it sat in all my pores and wrinkles and i used too much , i ended up looking about 80. The next time i primed my skin with Loreals studio secrets colour correcting concealer and mixed a small pearl sized amount with the primer in a small dish, i then stippled it on with my MAC 187 brush and its gave an airbrushed completely matt flawless look. It totally wipes out any colour in the skin and would probably cover tattoos. Its not for everyone but for a night out or special occasion its brilliant.
The above pic shows me wearing the sheered down version of the foundation and it photographs great as my skin is actually a riot.

Illamasqua my new obsession!

Consider me infatuated with Illamasqua, Its the cosmetics line we have all been waiting for!!!.
I first encountered this brand online on Specktra and ventured over to the Glasgow branch of Debenhams to check it out.
The sales girl explained its not about day time natural looks but a night time, Alter-ego kind of look, just my cup of tea and what the make up market is missing in my opinion.
I was getting sick of buying MAC lustre lipsticks only to find they have NO colour pay off so i was pleasantly surprised that the majority of Illamasqua lipsticks were matte. I bought the lipstick in Obey and its a gorgeous peachy pink and a very thick, opaque formula, in fact its so thick i need to sheer it down with lip balm hooraah!!!!
I also bought the lip liner in Bait, a really cool toned pink (top left) and the Rich foundation in 210 a match for my NC25 in MAC skin. I love it all and will do reviews on all the products i buy.

Harajuku Lovers, Snow Bunnies G

Well i have an unhealthy obsession with Gwen Stefani so when i saw these cute Winter editions of the Harajuku lovers fragrances i had to buy this one for my dressing table and it smells lovely to boot!!! It has a fruity sort of coconut scent and is very summery. To be honest there is hardly anything in the bottle but its a very strong scent.
Its not quite a sophisticated smell but i like it anyway.

Introducing my new make up storage.

I have been meaning to organise my make up stash for years and finally persuaded my better half to let me take over the bedroom with a dressing table. It took me a whole day to build and organise but heres the finished result, nice and minimalist just like the rest of the room.
I bought The Ikea Malm Vanity unit and the Malm 3 drawer chest for more storage underneath.
The pound store came in handy for the little baskets and I'm waiting on lipstick divider storage coming from the US. The brush holder is by Paul & Joe I'm sooooo pleased with it and it so organised compared to my old chuck everything on the carpet method of storage.

Front Cover cosmetics Eye Spy.

So i was doing my weekly scout around Boots when i found this massive palette by Front cover cosmetics. Now Some of you may remember last years rainbow eyes palette sold out last year and can now be found on eBay occasionally . This week until Thursday the palette is only £15 reduced from £35, but will return to original price.

I love this set, the colours are very pigmented and the eyeshadow transformer/liner thingy is a great addition to my make up collection as you can use it to transform any shadow into liner.
The glitter liners are quite impressive too.

Overall I'm pleasantly surprised as i thought the quality would be a bit shoddy but is actually really good quality.
